"We had a small group retreat here- the staff were excellent at meeting our needs- dealing with any issues that arose quickly and happily! They met our social distancing needs, and even better- they put up with our particularly energetic group of ladies with a smile and didn’t even blink when we set up a photo alley in their hallway. ;) ( a few staff even joined us for some fun photos! ) The building itself is exactly as one might expect a government building meant to house scientists from the sixties to be, but the friendly staff, excellent food, make up for the institutional architecture. It’s not a resort- but it is a retreat!! It is relaxing, and excellent value For the money- you can’t beat it! And the grounds and courtyard are beautiful! We had several special events planned- including rafting and a paint night- both of which were a ton of fun and run by a staff volunteer who had the energy of at least three people! At the rafting experience the young men who drive the tubes and rafts back and forth offered to carry our tubes for us ( taking pity on us I think! Lol) and the teamwork was evident when guides from another company also offered to help is out! The front desk staff helped whenever there was an issue without any delay. We will be back! Thank you Noah, Kevin, Mo and all the other staff who cleaned cooked drove taught and in general made our weekend amazing!"
"I recently spent a long weekend at a scrapbook retreat in this beautiful setting! The staff were friendly. The accommodations comfortable, the food fabulous! Our every need was met with a smile! Wildlife provided entertainment out the dining room window, a lovely setting, would highly recommend!!"
"The facility was great, well organized and very friendly. Staff was always around looking after our needs. We spent 4 days on a scrapbooking retreat with Scrap Chicks. The food was great and there was no shortage. Good thing we brought our stretchy pants. Hope to see you in the fall."
"We had a family reunion at Wilderness Edge from Friday to Sunday. The location is very beautiful, you will see deer around which is entertaining 😀. It was a great experience, great accommodations, good food and Kevin is the kindest person around. I would recommend it for any occasion. I can’t wait to come back again!"
"Love coming here for girls getaway trips! Always so relaxing and the food is great. So nice that it's right on the water, we have taken many beautiful walks on the nearby trails."
"Attended a long weekend enrolled in a crafting event at this center. The location was private and peaceful with activities held in a vaulted ceiling room with incredible natural light and bonus views of the lake and wildlife. It would serve as a beautiful setting for a wedding. The attentive, friendly check-in set the standard for the long weekend with comfortable rooms, great accommodations for the function and fabulous meals/snacks served in a lodge setting. Every staff member encountered seemed committed to making the stay 100% satisfying. This is an absolute rustic gem! Attended a long weekend enrolled in a crafting event at this center. "Just wanted to say thank you. Our stay at the hotel was awesome! We had an amazing experience with the raft going down the pinawa channel! Overall it was great, thanks for all the info and advice you gave us to enjoy our stay. We will be checking in again next year👍"
"We hosted a weekend work retreat at Wilderness Edge and found it to be a perfect location for what we were trying to do. Assigned a meeting room for the entire weekend which was ideal size for a group of 20-25 people, the rooms were in great condition from what you may expect going to a retreat, and Pinawa is an outstanding part of Manitoba to plan team-building activities outside! Plus the food was phenomenal! Great quantities and accommodations were made for those with dietary restrictions. The staff were outstanding and always there to help! In terms of price, far exceeded out expectations based on research of other options around the province. Highly recommend for anybody looking to put together a business retreat that balances both work and play!"
