The one thing worth knowing early
Almost everything below follows from a single fact about how this place runs.
Questions and answers
No — we're a retreat centre. We take one group at a time, sometimes up to three if they are small, so for your dates the place is effectively yours. The service is quieter and more relaxed than a hotel's by design: no desk around the clock, no spare rooms held back. Most of what follows flows from that, so it's worth reading before you arrive.
Fourteen days out, everything gets settled. Rooms are assigned and final payment is taken. From that point we order the groceries to be able to cook the food, roster the staff and make up the beds against your number. It's the moment your week stops being a plan and becomes physical things — meals bought, beds made, people scheduled.
Tell us as early as you can, and before the fourteen-day mark if at all possible. What we need then is the real count, not the plan — the number of people who will actually be standing in the parking lot. With notice there is a great deal we can do. Once the groceries are ordered and the beds are made there is very little, and after dark on arrival night there is almost nothing. Anyone who arrives unannounced won't have a bed made or a supper cooked, because those were counted out weeks earlier.
Check-in runs 4:00 to 9:00 PM, and our desk is on call 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. If your transportation is going to land after nine, tell us ahead of time and we'll arrange keys with you in advance so you can settle your own people in without waiting on us. For anything genuinely urgent outside desk hours, call 204-753-2535.
Rooms are due back at 10:00 AM. If you've booked a meeting room, that room is yours until 2:00 PM — so you still have somewhere to gather, wrap up and wait on your ride after the rooms are turned over.
Our reservation software stores your payment information securely, automatically takes payments on the dates of your payment plan (when applicable) and sends you an email with a receipt. All payments are non-refundable, so it's important that if someone makes a booking and later decides not to come, they let us know immediately so we can halt any further payments on the auto-payment plan.
We clean them and leave them empty. Every group wants the room differently, so groups set up and take down their own space. Tell our staff the layout you want and they'll show your people where the tables, chairs and podiums live, and help you move them.
Any time you'd like one — just ask. We don't do it automatically because most of our groups have been here many times and would rather get straight on with their week.
Yes. Our facility map shows every wing, the meeting rooms and the guest room numbering, and it is linked below.
There is a wheelchair ramp at our main front lobby entrance and there are 40 guest rooms on the main floor (all room numbers starting with 2, i.e. 214W). The handi-friendly 214W is a perfect room for anyone in a wheelchair.
We have one staff member with a severe allergy to pets, even to hypoallergenic pets, so unfortunately no.
We offer a variety of activities, from paddling and tubing on the Pinawa Channel to guided experiences and evening programming. The full list is on our activities page, linked below.

Still have a question?
If it is not answered here, ask. Organizers who tell us early always get more from us than organizers who tell us late.
